Unitil solar array in Kingston to generate 9.7M kWh in first year

One of New Hampshire's largest public utility-owned solar projects is now complete.

Unitil held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new solar array in Kingston on Wednesday.

Officials said the array is expected to generate about 9.7 million kilowatt-hours of energy in its first year.

Over its projected 40-year lifespan, it is expected to produce an average of 8.6 million kilowatt-hours annually, enough to power more than 1,200 homes.
